In order to guarantee this comfort level at 28°C, the
swimming pool heat pumps must deliver their rated capacity even on the worse days during the useful period.
Example:
on May 20th, the air temperature is 15°C at night and 20°C during the day, the heat pump must nevertheless maintain a pool temperature of 28°C as required.
It is for this reason that PSA always gives the power rating of its heat pumps under true operating conditions i.e. the conditions generally encountered during May, June or September, the months during which you actually need to
heat your pool .
The power rating of its heat pumps is given for an air temperature of 15°C and under these conditions, their COP (coefficient of performance) is 5: i.e. for 1 kWh consumed, the heat pump delivers 5 to the swimming pool.
The higher the air temperature, the greater the COP and the less you need to heat. Therefore, before purchasing a heat pump, it is important to check the air temperature for which the power rating is give.
